TalenTap was founded in 2019 by Penny Tan, who believe that content marketing and live streaming could help SMEs grow their brand and reach a larger audience. The team at TalenTap help brands solve the pain points of production capabilities and live streaming operations by providing a one stop solution from equipment to software and content to finding the right talents, and training with the objective of helping brands create an efficient process and interactive content that appeals to their target audience.
Our mission is to help SMEs grow their brand through social media by leveraging the right tools to ensure they stay connected with customers through interactive content and engaging conversations.
Since launch, we have helped 100 brands with their marketing and social media solutions.
Since the MCO, consumers are spending more and more time on social media, consuming various content that is easily available especially on Facebook live streaming. Many businesses have seen a shift in the way content is consumed but many SMEs still lack the skills and experience to reach out to their customers effectively, causing a loss of potential in revenue growth.
With the pandemic and more people staying or working from home, a large amount of their time is spent on their computer screens, mobile phones and digital platforms especially on social media like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, as well as ecommerce channels. We also witnessed the birth of successful youtubers and streamers like Sugu Pavitra who rose to fame by uploading cooking videos from home during this period.
While business owners are recognizing the change and this new wave of opportunity, they lack the technical know-how on utilizing these platforms and crafting content that will help their businesses. Many do not know how to choose the right talent, or which equipment or software they need to launch a successful live stream content.
Therefore, many are reluctant to start streaming, because they eventually do not follow through and stumble upon failure because there is no one to help or share the know-how of live streaming. TalenTap will close the gap and provide this for SMEs to help them grow their brand and sales, which have proven to be an effective marketing tool when it comes to generating brand awareness, and even direct sales because they can engage in real time conversations with customers.

Using Facebook live as an example, it is a new media that is widely available for anyone to utilize but there is no ready know how to teach brands how to successfully execute a live stream on Facebook. Taking example from a mature market like China: Live-streaming sessions have become increasingly popular in China in the last few years as consumers crave immersive experiences and personalized recommendations. According to consulting company Deloitte, the market reached $4.4 billion in 2018, growing 37 per cent on the year previous and attracting a total of 456 million viewers.
According to Alizila, the news hub for Alibaba Group, Alibaba’s Taobao marketplace hit RMB 100 billion (around $15.1 billion) in gross merchandise volume (GMV) through live streaming videos in 2018. Profit Sharing model where TalenTap takes 10-30% commission from the live sales revenue, commission varies depending on product nature.
What we provide: Full service, consultation, equipment setup, software setup host, marketing strategy to drive traffic, views and shares for live stream, staff training to execute FB Live for businesses.
With the rise of live streaming and increasing utilization on social media platforms particularly on Facebook live, this video format will allow users to share live streaming video via their smartphones and mobile devices.
Not only are more people interested in viewing a Facebook live video, Facebook has implemented an algorithm that ranks these videos higher in the news feed, so they are more likely to be seen organically. Aside from the fact that live videos have a 148% higher organic reach than photos.

At present, the barrier to entry is low however, there is no one out there who specializes in the know how to ensure success of live streaming content for brands and SMEs who have limited resources to grow. Live streaming on various platforms continue to grow via platforms on e-commerce platforms like Shopee Live and Lazada Live, Astro Go Live on top of already existing Facebook and Instagram live. We will be the full-service team who can educate SMEs and guide them to ensuring their journey on live streaming is efficient, successful and meet their business objectives, especially in a world where customers constantly crave stronger, more human connections with their favorite brands.
To differentiate ourselves from other players, we have chosen to specialize in live streaming planning, strategy and execution while adding further value to brands by cultivating and training their staffs in the know-how to execute live streams to sustain in the longer run. When our client succeeds, we also succeed in meeting our vision.
We are aiming to raise RM3 million for an equity % of 25%.

Our greatest investment portion of 35% is allocated to marketing. We will allocate an additional 35% to develop and refine our tech & hardware solution and 30% to manpower.

Elains Tee - Head of Marketing
Elains oversees the company's brand strategy and overall plan. She takes the lead in allocating resources to different projects as necessary and in setting short-term and long-term department goals. Alan Lim - Head of Operations
